Preparatory class 5 enables motivated and gifted primary school students to be supported over a period of two years so as to make their transition to (Pro)gymnasium level as smooth as possible.
The admission procedure to FGZ is no less demanding than the entrance examination at similar state schools; however, in the preparatory classes, students are gradually and carefully introduced to the requirements of the next level and are specifically prepared for the transition to the Progymnasium or for six years at the Gymnasium.
Primary class 5 (V5) forms a unit with class 6 (V6) and consists of a manageable group of a maximum of 16 motivated students. It offers a solid education in accordance with Curriculum 21; the language of instruction is German. The class is supervised all day long. The school’s own canteen ensures the physical well-being of the children; the wide range of play and sports facilities on the school grounds give them the space they need to move around.
